Beam Engine Discharge Valve Work Progressing

Our Beam Engine team have been making great progress with the ongoing work to refurbish the engine's River Pump Discharge valve which was causing us a few issues in the 2025 steaming season. So far the team have removed the valves from the chamber, cleaned out the debris found, cleaned up the brass castings which make up the valves and also replaced the valve heads which had deteriorated. We aim to get the rubber seals replaced too. In the coming weeks we will begin to reconstruct the valve and reinstall it in the engine. Keep following this news page and our social media for updates!!
