Blacksmithing Courses a smashing success!!

Since 2023, our Blacksmith Experience Courses at Tees Cottage Pumping Station have gone from strength to strength. Now entering their third year, they’ve become one of our most popular hands-on activities – and it’s easy to see why!

Under the guidance of our expert blacksmiths, Steve Silverwood and Arthur West, visitors learn the fundamental skills needed to become a blacksmith. From hammer techniques to shaping hot metal at the anvil, participants get a real taste of traditional craftsmanship in our historic 1856 forge.

The courses have been a roaring success with consistently glowing feedback. Every session ends with big smiles, proud faces, and hand-forged creations to take home. Whether you’re looking to try something new, build confidence with tools, or simply enjoy a memorable day out, our Blacksmith Experience Course offers a fun, safe, and incredibly rewarding experience.
